Hey Friends, check this challenge out at my group

Hello Creatives... I'm excited to announce the second challenge here at the Castle:
"Carnivale and the Carnies!"
This is meant to be a challenge requiring you to capture the "feeling" of being in a Depression era, traveling carnival much like the one we see in the TV series "Carnivale" of some years ago (
[link]) So there's going to be some "creepiness" involved, some supernatural perhaps and maybe a feeling of good vs. evil. One can also muse on Ray Bradbury's "Something Wicked This Way Comes" for inspiration. Here are the details to follow:
1.) Vintage image YOUR CHOICE
We have a lot of options here for vintage imagery, particularly helpful is the gallery from our own Contributor

Here are a few examples:

2.) You are to create a "scene" work as opposed to one of "design." If you are unsure of the difference, please read this description/tutorial by
[link]3.) The required size of the work MUST be 5x7 or 7x5 - which is in line with the format of the Castle's Card rooms. Sometimes a smaller size constraint forces us to work outside our comfort zones and that's a GOOD thing.
Due date for this challenge is: June 17, 2012. Late submissions will be added to the gallery but will not be considered for placing as a "win."
You must do more than add a model or one or two items. I am giving you MUCH leeway in this challenge to really capture the sensibillities of a traveling carnival that's barely squeaking by in the Depression era. There is dust, dirt, heat and weirdness. You can create your own Carnie attraction or personality. Or, you may want to work with the familiar such as The Bearded Lady, The Tarot Reader or the Snake Charmer. I simply call for you to BE Creative!
Each participant may submit TWO ENTRIES.
Prizes are always being sought as well as points. The winners will receive something GRAND!
Media is OPEN for this challenge.
I reserve the right to decline any submission.
Finally, PLEASE check the "general rules" here for ongoing specs for our games:
